Mary
Elizabeth Raines is the founder of Laughing Cherub Unlimited and the
director of the Academy for Professional Hypnosis Training. She
teaches in southern California and Sedona, Arizona. Ms. Raines also
teaches and has a hypnosis practice in east-central Wisconsin, where
she is founder of the Midwest Professional Hypnosis Associates.
Featured
on the Summer 2009 issue of the Journal of Hypnotism, Ms.
Raines is a certified hypnotherapist, hypnosis instructor and adjunct
faculty member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, the largest
professional hypnosis organization in the world. In 2010 she was
awarded the Order of the Braid in honor of a lifetime of outstanding
achievement, dedication, and service in the field of hypnotism. She
has been named a Fellow of the International Hypnosis Federation, and
was been a Faculty Convention Presenter and Certified Instructor for
the American Board of Hypnotherapy, as well as a speaker at the
MidAmerica Hypnosis Convention, Chicago, Illinois.
She
developed and teaches the guided imagery certification course for
the Summer Institute of the National Guild of Hypnotists, and writes
a column on guided imagery for The Journal of Hypnotism.
As
someone who has trained hundreds of hypnotists worldwide, Ms. Raines
is expert in such applications of hypnosis as past-life regression,
guided imagery, hypnotic inductions, telephone hypnosis, profound
emotional healing techniques, regression to cause, enhancement of
confidence and creativity, smoking cessation, stress reduction,
hypnosis for golfers, weight reduction, working with actors, and others.
She
teaches hypnosis certification classes, as well as offering
certification courses in past-life regression counselor training. Ms.
Raines periodically teaches self-hypnosis and guided imagery for the
Continuing Education Department of the University of Wisconsin. She
is also the creator of the popular Laughing Cherub self-improvement
CD series.
Mary
Elizabeth Raines has achieved the highest degree of Reiki Mastery,
and has had schooling in a wide variety of profound energy healing
and intuitive techniques. Her academic background includes
undergraduate work at New England Conservatory of Music in Boston as
a piano performance major, and independent film studies at the
University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh.
In
addition to her private clinical practice and teaching, Mary
Elizabeth Raines is a speaker and dynamic workshop leader. Whether
she is presenting a seminar on self-hypnosis or leading a group in
powerful personal exploration, sheer fun always plays an important
role. That fun is magnified when Raines performs in stage hypnosis
shows as LADY RAINEY.
A
writer, playwright and former journalist who has won regional, state
and national awards for her writing,
Raines has an extensive body of published and produced work, and has
been associate editor of a hypnosis magazine. She is currently a
columnist for the Journal of Hypnotism. Articles
on hypnosis have been published in other professional journals, as
well as Internet magazines. She has contributed to three published
hypnosis books, including the National Guild of Hypnotists' "New
Consumer's Guide to Hypnotism," and "Everyday Miracles of
Hypnosis," edited by Stephanie Rothman. Ms. Raines is also an
accomplished pianist and actor.
